Quality Time

We live in a busy, high tech and materialistic world. This environment tends to continually divert us from what should be our top priorities – loving God, loving our families, and loving our neighbors. Marriages are starving for lack of quality time together. There are brief moments in time, good and bad, that we remember down through the years. When the words, “I love you,” are demonstrated by some action, the spouse can believe it. As Ronnie Millsap sang, “ you’ve got to show her.” Some married couples have a date night once a week. Some fathers share a time each month – perhaps over a meal – with each of their children, one at a time. I believe that, as often as possible, everyone in the family should meet at the supper table. This is where parents learn what’s going on in the lives of their children; and children receive needed attention; and bonding within the family occurs. This blog has focused on marriage and the family. In future blogs, we will share our thoughts on loving God and loving our neighbors.
