Clarence Ogle is a retired soldier and certified public accountant living in El Paso, Texas. He has shared the gospel of Jesus Christ and the love of God with inmates in local jails for over twenty-six years and is still doing so. Clarence serves as an elder in his church – Destiny Family Christian Center. He and his wife, Hayriye, have been married for forty-five years and have children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Clarence enjoys gardening and sharing the gospel of Jrsus Christ in the Rogelio Sanchez State Jail. Clarence said, “The Texas Department of Criminal Justice has found that the gospel works! It produces changed hearts and changed lives and, along with other programs, has helped to greatly reduce recidivism in Texas. Recidivism is defined as an offender returning to prison within three years after his release from prison. Our outstanding chaplain at the state jail, Juan Lucero, has mentioned that he knows that certain offenders are growing in Christ. He knows that because he sees the fruit of the Spirit growing and ripening in them (see Scripture on Home page). Offenders who volunteer to undertake the faith-based curriculum receive many hours of Bible-based teaching by a number of instructors each week. The expressions of love and appreciation from the students inspire me. Holy Spirit, I thank You for your help! To God be the glory!”
